Finance Administrators for development cooperation and humanitarian assistance programs

For our Programs Department (Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance), we are looking for employees to join the Finance Administration Team as soon as possible. The positions are planned with a weekly working time ranging from 20 - 40 hours in a combination of remote work and at our location in Toenisvorst on the Lower Rhine. The positions are limited to 2 years with an option for extension.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Financial administration of our programs, which we implement with partner organizations in the respective countries.
- Carry out checks of financial reports (incl. voucher verification) from partner countries and financial reporting to development partners/donors (e.g. BMZ, German Federal Foreign Office, foundations)
- Guide financial staff of partner organizations in the area of financial management, administration and compliance.
- Support programme managers in the preparation of budgets and financial monitoring
- Review and document bidding and award processes in institutionally funded projects and programs, in collaboration with partner organizations
- Ensuring compliance with documentation requirements
- Conduct trainings on relevant financial topics for staff and partner organizations
- Support in the further optimization and development of processes and templates within the Finance Team
- Willingness and ability to travel to the countries where our programs are implemented is desirable.
Your Qualifications, Working Experience and Skills
- Degree or completed vocational training in a relevant field or work experience in the administration of public grants, preferably in the field of development cooperation/humanitarian aid (but not mandatory)
- Professional experience in the commercial or administrative field (applications by young professionally are very welcome)
- Experience in the administration of grants (federal and national) and knowledge of funding guidelines and grant law are an advantage.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of German (min. A2/B1) and excellent French and English language skills (min. C1). Additional language skills are desirable: Spanish (min C1)
- Very good computer skills: MS Office (365), especially Excel, SharePoint desirable
- Independent, structured, and diligent working style
- Solution-oriented, pragmatic way of thinking
- Intercultural competence
- Ability to work in a team, enjoy administrative tasks and have numeric skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
