Junior Professional Officer (JPO)
Die Bundesregierung hat mit mehr als 40 Internationalen Organisationen Abkommen zur Förderung von deutschen Nachwuchskräften als JPO geschlossen. Die Federführung des Programms liegt beim Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ); das Büro Führungskräfte zu Internationalen Organisationen (BFIO) ist verantwortlich für die Durchführung des Programms. Angesprochen sind Bewerber*innen mit deutscher Staatsangehörigkeit und mit erster Berufserfahrung nach abgeschlossenem Hochschulstudium.
Da es sich um ein Nachwuchsförderprogramm handelt, sollten Bewerberinnen und Bewerber im Regelfall zwischen zwei bis vier Jahren Berufserfahrung haben.

Junior Professional Officer (JPO), Associate Banker, London HQ (and optional Istanbul)
Sector/Unit: Energy Eurasia
Duration: 2 years with the possibility of extension for another year.
Please note that for participants of the JPO-Programme two years of work experience are mandatory!
Main duties and responsibilities (Examples):
- Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution, including comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information and financial performance data.
- Actively contribute to the design and implementation of Technical co-operation assistance, ensuring that processing and approval fits with the approval schedule of the related investment project or the related policy dialogue initiative.
- Be the primary driver of the scope and quality of project due diligence, including financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance.
- Prepare internal project documentation, including approval project memoranda, financial models, draft term sheets, presentations, etc.
- Assist with communication with other internal units of the Bank, clients and other stakeholders, at the operational level.
- Take responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of all projects, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures related to disbursement.
- Prepare timely and comprehensive monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of TC assignments including compliance with donor reporting requirements and operational objectives.
- Assist with marketing and business development efforts.
Profile of qualification:
Education:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards.
- Experience in the energy sector and preferably in renewable energy is desirable.
- Experience in complex project finance structures desirable.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong quantitative/numerical skills.
- Credit analysis skills.
- Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages.
