Long-Term Forestry Expert for the German-Argentinian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (m/f/d)

In the field of international development cooperation, we specialize in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. On behalf of public and private institutions, we plan, implement, and evaluate projects across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Long-Term Forestry Expert (m/f/d) starting in October 2026 for the German-Argentinian Agricultural Policy Dialogue in Argentina. The successful candidate should have expertise in forestry, communication, public relations and administration.
This is a part-time position corresponding to 75% FTE in 2026 and 50% FTE from 2027 to 2028.
The position will comprise the following tasks:
- Main contact person for the forestry component in Buenos Aires
- Support to the Component Lead
- Institutional networking and a trusted liaison function
- Project communications and public relations: planning and coordination of communication products (social media content, events and fact sheets)
- Digital visualization and editing of project results for different target groups
- Support of internal and external communication as well as the organization of events
- Support in reporting, taking minutes and internal project documentation
- Office management and administrative tasks
- Coordination of translation and interpretation services, to some extent translation of certain documents
- Support in the preparation and organization of project meetings and relevant events
- Ensure close coordination with the agricultural team across all activities.
Your profile:
Minimum requirements (eligibility criteria):
- A university degree or professional qualification in a field relevant to this assignment
- Relevant professional experience
- Very good knowledge of Spanish (minimum C1 according to CEFR)
- Good knowledge of English (minimum B1 according to CEFR)
The following professional experiences will be considered an asset:
- A relevant university degree or a professional training (forestry, silviculture or similar)
- Knowledge of the Argentinian forestry and timber sector as well as regional and institutional structures, including at Mercosur level
- Experience with digital media, platforms and editing
- Experience in communication, administration, event management or international cooperation
- Work experience in Argentina; experience in other countries of Latin America is an advantage
- Knowledge of German
- Methodological expertise:
- Stakeholder management
- Building networks and moderation
- Use of digital tools and communication platforms
- Preparation and editing of target-group-specific content
- Ability to organize complex processes and strong communication and interpersonal skills
