Junior Professional Officer (JPO)
Die Bundesregierung hat mit mehr als 40 Internationalen Organisationen Abkommen zur Förderung von deutschen Nachwuchskräften als JPO geschlossen. Die Federführung des Programms liegt beim Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ); das Büro Führungskräfte zu Internationalen Organisationen (BFIO) ist verantwortlich für die Durchführung des Programms. Angesprochen sind Bewerber*innen mit deutscher Staatsangehörigkeit und mit erster Berufserfahrung nach abgeschlossenem Hochschulstudium.
Da es sich um ein Nachwuchsförderprogramm handelt, sollten Bewerberinnen und Bewerber im Regelfall zwischen zwei bis vier Jahren Berufserfahrung haben.

Junior Professional Officer (JPO), Gender and Climate Change Analyst, La Paz
Sector/Unit: Bolivia Country Office
Duration: 2 years with the possibility of extension for another year.
Please note that for participants of the JPO-Programme two years of work experience are mandatory!
Main duties and responsibilities (Examples):
- Collect and assess existing statistics relevant to gender and climate in Bolivia.
- Identify statistical gaps and elaborate recommendations for improvement of statistics.
- Collect information about uses, customs, and the ancestral wisdom of women and girls in communities of Bolivia to recognize their contribution to the fight and adaptation to climate change.
- Contribute a strategy of intervention for UN Women Bolivia in climate change for the next years.
- Participate in national expert group meetings, official events, and conferences, dissemination workshops about climate change and gender.
- Analyze and map project opportunities and strategic partnerships in the areas of climate change and collaborate in project documents and proposals for donors about climate change and gender to ensure the expansion of the climate change portfolio.
- Prepare documents, talking points and presentations on request on gender, climate change, and other topics.
Profile of qualification:
Education:
- Master’s degree in gender and climate change, or a related field.
- A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building.
- Experience in the climate change area and gender or women’s rights is an asset.
Key Competencies:
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of the other UN official working languages is an asset.
- Capacity to formulate, implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes.
- Capability to synthesize program performance data and produce analytical reports.
